If you remember in Mortal Kombat 11 we released more story content and more and more characters and, you know, we really would like to follow suite as far as just releasing... and supporting the game for, you know, as long of a period of time as possible. Injustice 3 Release Date Speculation
At the time of writing, there is no official confirmed release date for Injustice 3, but in this article, you’ll find all (if any) information that the developer shared, as well as some speculation from Ginx on when we could see it launch.
Since Netherealm hasn't formally announced Injustice 3 yet, there isn't an official release date at this time. And to make things slightly more complicated, we're still unsure of what the studio is working on internally at the moment.
Although we are aware that NeatherRealm Studios has been developing a new project since July 2021, it is still unclear what exactly this project entails. As they have been working closely with Marvel recently, it stands to reason it could even be one of team red's new titles.
Regardless, we are aware that NeatherRealm typically adheres to a similar schedule for their releases. Every two years, the studio releases a new game; if the COVID-19 Pandemic and the ongoing problems with the merger of Warner Brothers and Discovery hadn't happened, they might have done so by now.
We're still waiting as of right now, and whatever the studio is working on—whether it's Injustice or something else—will probably be revealed and released in 2023.
Injustice 3 Leaks & News
Currently, there are no concrete leaks for fans to chew on regarding Injustice 3. However, back in January of 2022, Jonathan Andersen, a NetherRealm senior production manager, released an image on Twitter that might have leaked details on an upcoming Mortal Kombat game.
This implies we will see a Mortal Kombat title coming sooner than Injustice 3, as it might be the studio's main focus right now. But regardless, this is all speculation until we receive official information regarding Injustice 3.
Injustice 3 Characters
It's currently impossible to predict with certainty which characters will appear in Injustice 3. It will largely depend on Warner Bros. and the licensing of the DC characters, to name one major factor.
The number of characters in Injustice 2 increased from the original game's 30. We might anticipate seeing a similar number of characters because NetherRealm typically stays in that sweet spot of the mid-30s.
However, it suggests that we might encounter some brand-new or perhaps old characters. Despite the roster's expansion, Ares, Batgirl, Doomsday, and Shazam were all removed from Injustice 2. These characters might make a comeback, but it also means that some of the Injustice 2 cast will likely be cut.
Injustice 3 Story
Batman's conclusion appears to be the most logical (and, therefore, canon) choice between the two endings, despite some fan disagreement. Since if we go with Superman's ending, then no one will be left to challenge the power of the Regime, leaving very little room for plot progression.
Injustice 3 could feature the evil Superman escaping from the Phantom Zone. Or we could see Doomsday make an appearance and kick things into high gear. In the Injustice universe, Doomsday's fate is unknown, as the last time we saw him, he was sent to the Phantom Zone.
Perhaps a team of Doomsday and Superman could break free from the pocket dimension and establish a new version of the Regime. So far, there has been very little information about what the next Injustice game might be about, and even the comics haven't given us any hints about what the series' future might hold.
Regardless, Injustice 3 is set to be an exciting addition to the DC hero fighting game. So be sure to check back here often for more details as they are released by the developers.
